Language Testing Wallpaper
While supporting instructors in the Center for Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Ohio State, I identified an inefficiency in their placement testing workflow. Test proctors spent a considerable amount of time explaining the sign-on process to learners, which led to long lines at the testing center.
We decided to create a wallpaper for the testing center computers that included the login instructions, allowing proctors to focus on checking in learners and monitoring tests in progress.
I produced the first draft shown here in Adobe Photoshop. When I shared it with the testing lead, he said it was perfect, but that it “needs more cats,” leading to the second version shown below. In the end, they decided to use the first version.
