Academic Technology Website Redesign

While working as a part of the Academic Technology team at Ohio State University, we received feedback that our department’s website was difficult to navigate.

My supervisor at the time asked me to map out the information contained on the site, design a new workflow for accessing our most used pages, and create a new look for the home page.

Starting with usage data, I mapped out the most common uses for our website and created a proposed site structure that made common tasks, such as entering a support request, accessible with as few clicks as possible. I then produced a number of concepts for the look of the homepage in Adobe Photoshop which were used to create the updated homepage.
